About Me

Tonacida says, "Staying honest and doing things with clean hands, a pure heart and with pure intentions is the Essence of who she is.” Ms. Major-Dixon is sincere, very humble and walks the path of humility and looks for the lessons in everything that has occurred in her life; as these lessons  happened through her and not to her. She is not the victim, she is the survivor now thriving.

Tonacida Dixon, affectionately known as Tari, has endured a life of pain and challenges. As a mother of two, her journey has included many hardships in not only learning how to survive, but identifying a path to overcome the generational curse of family mistrust. Despite the adversity, winds, waves and the storms of life, Tari refused to let life's circumstances or past situations be defining moments of her life.

In  1985, a horrible event changed her life forever! What started off as a fun-filled weekend with her sisters and cousins, turned into a weekend of horror.  Her aunt’s boyfriend repeatedly sexually assaulted her. Tari was outcast by her aunt and was perpetrated as a liar, which caused a break in the relational trust between many of her family members.

On the healing journey at age of 19, Tari found herself in a domestically abusive relationship, in which she endured a lot of pain physically, mentally and emotionally. Tari was left with salt in the open wounds that were yet healed from the traumatic event as a teen. After being blessed with a family of two children, she provided them with private education, an array of activities to spark their passions, and support them in their dreams and goals of whatever they desired to be in life.  During this time of single parenthood,  she continued to work full-time and was inspired to build her own business to showcase her lifelong passion.

Tari, always admired and adored her mother’s tenacity, strength, endurance, patience, compassion, empathy, resilience, the innate gift of wisdom and the intellect her mother possessed. In addition, Tari praised her mother’s determination to build a successful home-based tax business for over thirty years and provide for Tari and her sisters without fail. Her mother’s work ethic and business savvy inspired and influenced Tari to further her education by attending a private university and working full time as a seasonal part-time position as  a tax professional. It was innate and Tari knew working for someone else wasn’t the life she wanted for

herself and her children.

Tari began to dive into the world of entrepreneurship.  A few of the business endeavors started with selling art, property management, acquisition, and a consulting firm that focuses on income tax preparations for businesses and individuals. In addition, the consulting firm offers insight on how to appropriately manage finances and investments.

More trials, tribulations, and turbulence came and Tari suffered many adversities that inhibited her path to healing.  She was involved with a custody battle with the Michigan child protective services and the foster care system,  she met who she believed to be her soulmate and fell in love.  While enduring the custody battle, she built a life with her newfound love to prepare her children’s return to a solid loving family.  Once she had her children back under her roof, they were married and began living a fulfilled life of raising a blended family. After turbulence in a marriage of almost fourteen years, the whirl-wind love ended in a divorce. To make matters worse, within twenty-four hours of the divorce, Tari was in a motor vehicle accident that resulted in life threatening injuries that included: traumatic brain injury, seizures, bleeding ulcers, ulcerative colitis. Tmj, herniated bulging disc, and more, nearly resulting in Tari ‘s untimely death.

Defining Moment: After healing, the unimaginable happened on September 16, 2013. While leaving the gas station, her firstborn and only son was robbed and killed, to a senseless act of gun violence. Tari, describes this as the most earth shattering crippling pain, that shakes the grounds you walk on. While grieving for her son, she had to stay strong for his daughter, Skylar, whom she was awarded custody of. in the following two years.

Grief strikes again, February 1,2014, Tari’s Stepmother lost her to battle Cancer that spread from her breast to her Brain. Devastation occurs again, on December 5, 2015, Tari, lost her mother to COPD.  The onset of spiraling depression from the ongoing pain from the accident’s the surgeries, medications administered, bleeding ulcers, the Brian injury, and the battle and attempting suicide  with daily suicidal thoughts. While trying to navigate the emotional woes of depression, doctors diagnosed Tari with a rare form of cancer in January 2016. The cancer lay dormant for over twenty years. Tari exclaimed, “Despite it all, GOD is always in control. What hasn’t he kept me through?”

The Journey to healing and self-discovery begins. After a path of anguish, hopelessness, and feeling lifeless she turned to GOD; thus, the rebirth of a Transformational Paradigm SHIFT. The renewal of the mental, emotional, psychological and spiritual mindset is the “reset.” Birthed, Purpose of a Non-Profit in memory of the late Mr. Phillip G. Wallace, a call to action. Redefining Moment: Clarity came in 2018, when Tari and Andre, her ex husband, remarried on her deceased son’s birthday. Tari thought this time it would last forever, it ended six months later when her husband decided he wanted to move on with his girlfriend. Tari felt betrayed and felt he pushed emotional buttons she didn’t even realize existed. After being depressed, full of anxiety and abusively drinking, Tari, SNAPPED! She shot at her husband and mistress, #BUTGOD not one bullet hit him nor her. Tari’s was eternally grateful that GOD’S presence was there, and that saving grace was with all involved. Her mother would always say that grace is more than “SUFFICIENT.”

GOD, birthed PURPOSE through this pain by the gift of Tari, scribbling on her social media platform “Seeds of Encouragement” Over the years Tari, has always journaled, wrote notes, shared a positive thought or thoughts an uplifting song or shared her positive writings.

“I am a firm believer that stands on Unshakable, Unmovable, Unstoppable, Undeniable FAITH even in my weakest, weariest times and moments. I now know that GOD carried me through it all.

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heavens”: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance”
